OTHER RELATED JOB INFORMATION:
The nature of the work requires the jobholder to work within and outside buildings. At times, in emergencies, he would have to work outside of normal working hours. The jobholder will be required to live in the accommodation provided. This is of a standard comparable with that made available to similar positions in Dubai. Staff accommodation is restricted to employees only and it would be preferable for the job holder to be unmarried
This is a single job of one person handling all the drainage works at the Hotel.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
‘O’ level education with a Technical Training Certificate in Plumbing and a minimum of 2 - 3 years experience as a Plumber.
Should have an understanding on all types of pumps and pipes - steel, copper, cast steel, aluminium and PVC, fitting techniques as well as pressure and flow requirements.
Must also have an understanding of Reverse Osmosis Plants and their operation. Able to read drawings and blue prints of water layout and supply systems. Must be proficient in diagnosing faults and effecting the necessary repairs.
NOTE: Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal educational qualification.

Perform as part of a team as directed by the Supervisor on duty all scheduled maintenance, servicing, repairs and fault finding of all plumbing fixtures, fittings and pumps ensuring that all the equipment/fixtures are fully operational at all times.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, overhaul and repairs on Hotel equipment in order to ensure that all plumbing equipment (Pipes, pumps, irrigation) are in good working condition.
Carry out immediate repairs on reported faults on fittings, fixtures and equipment and report the same to the Supervisor on duty thereby minimising inconvenience caused to customers.
Update the logbook on all repair/maintenance work on water pumps which are completed or in progress in order to maintain records for future reference and to keep the supervisor on duty informed of the repair/maintenance progress. The records will be useful for preparing maintenance schedules and to know the history of the equipment or the maintenance work carried out.
Regularly keep the supervisor on duty informed on the requirement of spare parts and tools in order for the material to be procured and made available for future maintenance.
Should be able read drawings of buildings and continuously suggest and analyse out modifications in order to improve the cost effectiveness, performance of the plumbing facilities.
Inspect the equipment (pumps) that is being worked on for any other faults in order to prevent further breakdown in the future, hence ensuring maximum serviceability of the unit.
Follow general safety procedures in order to prevent personal injury or equipment damage.
